Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs Passes Away At 56

October 5, 2011
We are deeply saddened to announce today the death of Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, at the age of 56. Needless to say, this is a very sad day for us, the world of technology, and beyond. Steve Jobs was an innovator, visionary, and revolutionized the world in a way very few ever have. In his honor, Apple has setup a special site on Apple.com at http://apple.com/stevejobs, with an email address (rememberingsteve@apple.com) that you can use to share your thoughts, memories and condolences. In his memory, we'd like to share with you what we believe is one of his most inspiring public appearances, that will hopefully impact your life as much as it has ours: his commencement speech at the University of Stanford in 2005:

Here is the official press release from Apple and his family. Here at AppAdvice we have long admired Steve Jobs and we are deeply saddened by his passing, as we are sure many of you are. To mourn we will take a moment to reflect about the impact he has had on our lives. Feel free to share your memories or remember as you see fit. Rest in peace.
