TwitchTV Launches On iPhone

TwitchTV today launched a full-featured iPhone app. The app is designed to bring the full TwitchTV experience to the iPhone with complete support for browsing and viewing each of the site's streams. First launched by Justin.tv in June, TwitchTV is the world’s largest video game broadcasting and chat community. As such, it features videos from the top gaming personalities, players, tournaments, leagues, and commentary. According to Emmett Shear, CEO of TwitchTV:

“This has been one of the most frequently requested items since we launched. Our community is truly native to the mobile environment. They switch back and forth from Web to mobile and back again, not seeming to recognize boundaries. So it’s very important to bring them a TwitchTV experience that does the same.”

Features of the iPhone app include:

• View TwitchTV streaming video directly on your iPhone
• Chat with your friends via our fully-featured in-app chat functionality
• Browse TwitchTV by game
• View featured TwitchTV streams
• Search for you favorite broadcasters
• Follow TwitchTV users and get followed back
