Not a receiver in the classic sense, the 20 watt-per-channel amp only offers one input for one device. However, when that device may be the most versatile stereo component of all time, you're not in a bad spot. Whether you open up your Al Green playlist on your laptop and let it roll, or spin tracks with the algoriddim app on your iPad, this new little amp is waiting to meet your Airport Express and help you find the funk.
If you have a spare pair of old speakers collecting dust and an Airport Express wishing for a more active life on its shelf, you may want to keep an eye out for the 20. Griffin boasts easy configuration for their remote controlled power amp. Remote in more ways than one, too -- because any two average speakers will do, there's no need to disassemble your stereo and bring it over to a friend's unadorned apartment for a housewarming. 20 watts per channel might not be enough for a hoedown, but it's certainly enough for a sock-hop.
If you want some deep low-end for that new Drake jam you're always playing, you'll have to grab a sub-woofer with power of its own and hook it up to the sub out port at the rear of the unit.
