Get Yourself In The Picture With The Tiltpod

March 4, 2012
With less than a month to go, the tiltpod (for iPhone) has reached a little over half of its $10,000 goal on Kickstarter. The tiltpod actually launched a few months back, but now they need your help to make it work with the iPhone. If you haven't seen the tiltpod before, it's essentially a tiny, on the go tripod. The tiltpod uses a quick-connect magnetic ball pivot with your camera (and hopefully your iPhone) that magnetically connects to the tiltpod base. The magnetic pivot lets you adjust your camera to shoot at many angles. The underside of the tiltpod is made of a "grippy material" that allows it to be used on plenty of surfaces. It's small enough to clip onto a keychain, and is pocket-friendly.

The tiltpod will allow you to shoot in both portrait and landscape mode. Of course, you can also use it as a stand for movies, FaceTime, etc. Sadly, it looks like this is an accessory for naked iPhones only, which I typically find to be too cumbersome to use often. For a limited time, making a $10 pledge will get you everything a $15 dollar pledge does: a tiltpod base, wrist strap, iPhone adapter, and mounts for your point-and-shoot.
