It's A Catch-22!

It's A Catch-22!

March 13, 2012
While games for iOS seem to be getting bigger and bigger recently, with big releases like Infinity Blade II starting to become commonplace, there is still a large market for simple games. Tiny Wings is the perfect example of this. Having a one click control system certainly hasn't held this game back. It has been in the top 25 for some time and doesn't look like it'll be budging anytime soon. Developer Mango Down is hoping to continue where Tiny Wings simple, yet hugely popular game left off with their latest offering, Catch-22. Mango Down calls their game both "relaxing and frustrating" and features, as with Tiny Wings, one click gameplay. To whet your appetite for what Catch-22 has to offer, Mango Down has released the following trailer on their YouTube channel: Catch-22 sees you, the player, playing against yourself endlessly to try to better your current high score, until you inevitably crash into yourself. I can certainly see how Mango Down believes the game to be both relaxing and frustrating, though I'm always interested in a game encouraging the "just one more try" mentality. Catch-22 is scheduled for release on both iOS and Facebook in April 2012 and will feature a leaderboard and friend integration for both platforms. The game has already won awards, having recently been crowned the winner of the Global Game Jam 2012 in Amsterdam. I've no idea what this is, but it certainly sounds impressive! Keep your eyes on AppAdvice in April for all of the latest news on Catch-22.
