Earlier this week, we offered our first look at how Apple plans to change their
native apps in iOS 6.0. Today, we give you a closer look at six instances where Apple has changed iOS 6.0 versus their current iOS version.
Sharing
Instead of text boxes, sharing from within native Apple apps is now done by clicking on icons. In iOS 6.0 beta, sharing through messaging is no longer present. However, this will likely be corrected before iOS 6.0 is released to the public this fall. Additionally, you'll notice Apple's new iOS
Facebook integration is on display here. This slight tweak adds some color to an otherwise ho-hum function of iOS.
These improved sharing capabilities also extend to the App Store, where you can now share app information in new ways. These include via Message, Twitter, Facebook, or you can copy the app link and use it elsewhere in iOS.
App Store
Also new in the App Store, is how iOS utilizes the search screen. It now contains
larger icons and buttons to make a purchase.
Additionally, the overall App Store experience has been completely changed with iOS 6. Apple has changed the look of the
App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes.
Settings
The next generation iOS includes a number of new features including Privacy and Do Not Disturb. When the latter is activated, you'll see a moon icon at the top of your iDevice screen near the time.
Phone
As we
indicated previously, Apple is also changing the look and feel of the Phone app. Instead of having dark colors, the keypad is now all decked out with a lighter hue.
We know these aren't the only changes to arrive with iOS 6.0. We'll be highlighting many of the others in the coming days and months.
