Bravo Jump ($0.99) by Sudo Game is a universal tapping game that challenges your reflexes. Life is tough on the playground. Sometimes, you have to stick up for the weaker kids by showing off how good you are at jumping rope.
This simple game requires players only to tap the screen to make the brave schoolboy jump. In order to defend a terrified classmate from playground bullies, the boy must jump over a rope that moves at various speeds and angles.
Players tap the screen at the correct time to make the boy jump. To make him jump higher, tap and hold the screen. The bullies will move from east to west, north to south, in a circle, in a crisscross pattern, and all manner of ways that a rope can be moved. The bullies will also speed up, slow down and fake a move to try to trip you up. Players can only miss three jumps or the game will end. Because of the random and unpredictable nature of the rope’s movement, players must have quick reflexes and be able to pay close attention to the game.
I experienced a couple of issues when playing this game on my fourth-generation iPod touch. Some of the buttons just didn’t work. I was unable to go back to the main menu when my game ended. The little “x” button at the top of the screen never worked. This never happened during the game, so it didn’t affect my ability to play. It was just a bit annoying because if I ever wanted to go back to the main menu, I’d have to replay the game, hit the pause menu to get access to the main screen. Additionally, the items section never worked for me. I’m not even sure what it does.
This is a quick pick-up game that only requires you to tap your screen. However, it is challenging enough to demand your quickest reflexes. The price can’t get any cheaper without being free. If you are looking for a very casual game where all you have to do is tap, tap, tap, then this is that game.
