Discover Stories You're Likely To Love With Trapit For iPad

August 14, 2012
One of the newest and most promising newsreader apps for iPad has received an update. Trapit 1.2 is available in the App Store. First released in July, the free app is the creation of those that brought you Apple’s voice assistant, Siri. Trapit uses algorithms to “trap” news from the Web that might interest you. The result is a refreshing new way to read each day’s news both on the tablet and Trap.it website. With Trapit, you define which subjects you want to read about by selecting from a random list of current stories, according to category. These include: trending, entertainment, lifestyle, news, science, sports, business, and technology.  You can also find "traps" by doing a search by keyword, phrase, or Web address. From there, the app helps you discover new blogs, magazines, and writers, based on your interests. As you find a story that interests you, "trapit" and the service will use that information to improve the search results to according to your tastes. You may also share those stories via Twitter, Facebook, and email. You can also send them to your Reading List, which now includes Evernote, and Instapaper support. Other new features include:
  • Stability improvements - resolved crashing issue
  • Performance improvements
  • Bug fixes
Trapit is a promising new app and one that I plan on exploring in much more detail in the future. It is available for download on your iPad.
