Quirky App Of The Day: Ugly Booth Brings Better Appreciation For Your Natural Beauty

I'm a 26 year old mother of three small children. My body now has some miles on it. Thanks to pop culture and the magic of Photoshop, I can feel pretty crappy about not having my 19-year-old body anymore. However, seeing your face distorted into one that looks like the wicked witch took revenge on your features makes me feel less worried about my looks. Ugly Booth is a universal app that makes you think, "How do you like me now?" once you see how bad you could get.
I've done some other reviews for the PiVi&Co developers. They always have interesting ways to screw up your face. This one took the cake, though. As always, it's an easy to use app with only a few adjustments on your end.
First, you can either take a fresh picture or choose one from your camera roll. I took a fresh picture for the app review. I pride myself on not having a camera roll full of duck-faced self portraits that may or may not have been taken with the aid of a bathroom mirror.
Once you have your picture, the app asks for you to place markers over the eyes, nose, and chin. This helps the app map out the dimensions and position of your face.
Next, you just have to tap the "Ready? Go" button on the bottom right corner. The app does the rest of the work for you.
While it might be fun to put zits on my own face, I couldn't have created the monstrosity that popped up on my screen if I tried. I was impressed by how ugly the app could make me. My friend said that it looked like I had been stung by tons of bees. Swelling and all.
Once you have your picture, you can save it to your camera roll, post it on Facebook or Twitter, or email it to your friends and family. The app will actually save your before and after pictures in the title page gallery.
Ugly Booth is available in the App Store for $0.99.
