Get It While You Can: This Colorful New App Has A Hidden Tethering Feature
Update: This app has been removed from the App Store. Are your tethering abilities still locked down by a carrier? Well, there’s a new app that will to free your iPhone’s Internet connection and share it with your computer without a jailbreak. At first glance, it appears to be a cute little painting app, but with a little help, you’ll be able to unlock its native tethering feature. First, if you’d like to download this app, search “foolishsleuth” in the App Store or click this link. The app is called Little Artist Canvas and it's available for $0.99. If you’d like to enable its hidden tethering feature, follow the instruction in the video below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8MifBZoVJY&
If you can't see the above video, please click this link.As you can see, the app successfully performs its duties and passes the iPhone’s Internet connection through to the computer. I’ll admit the process is a bit tedious, but it’s nothing compared to upgrading your data plan or shelling out the cash for tethering through your carrier. As mentioned in the above video, your connection speed will depend on the 3G or LTE speeds offered by your carrier. It's also important to note, in my testing, the connection will only remain active if the device is unlocked. If the device does lock, you'll need to re-enter the color combination mentioned in the video. Aside from its tethering abilities, this app also allows you to draw pictures and save them to your photo library. If you’re in need of a tethering solution outside of your carrier’s boundaries, be sure to pick up this app as soon as possible. Like many other tethering apps that have made it to the App Store, I don’t expect this one to last very long. [gallery link="file" columns="2"]
