You're able to import any photo from your library or take a new one in-app. You can scale, apply filters, and adjust the parameters of your photo. Then write anything you want on it, whether that's a poem or a caption. You're able to add as few or as many words as you want and manipulate them with common gesture controls. Your unique creations can be shared via email, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Poetics is available for free today only (12/04). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 31 ratings.

NOTE'd ($0.99 → Free, 29.0 MB): A note taking app that's not only easy to use, but also easy on the eyes.

Choose any one of the 25 different notebook styles, and then add text notes, audio memos, location data, and images. Notebooks can be renamed, passcode locked, rearranged, and backed up and restored via Dropbox. The app also includes the ability to bookmark notes, view all of the notes from all of your notebooks at once, and share notes via Twitter, SMS, or email. Perfect Cut ($0.99 → Free, 15.2 MB): Make the perfect cut in this entertaining casual game.

Creatures of the sea will pop into view, and you must cut them with a swipe according to the percentage at the top of the screen. The closer you get to the percentage, the higher your score. If you make a perfect cut, an octopus will leap across the screen. Tap it to earn bonus time. You’ll need it too since you only start with 60 seconds. The game includes leaderboards via Game Center as well. Perfect Cut is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 67 ratings.

Tap the start button at the top of the screen and place your finger over your iDevice's camera and LED flash. The app will begin to measure your heart rate and display your coherence. Follow the yellow dot at the bottom of the screen to see when to breath, hold your breath, and exhale. The app will provide you with detailed history as well, which can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, or email. An additional Coherence Spectrum mode is available via in-app purchase. Before each workout you’re able to define your weight to track your calories burned. Then just follow the directions on your screen. Stacked - Your New Personal Trainer is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 6 ratings.
