Today’s Apps Gone Free: Atomic, LoveList, Floyd’s Worthwhile Endeavor And More

April 22, 2014

Try to survive the onslaught of bullets in the hectic arcade game, Atomic+. We also have an app that allows you to scan to pin what you love, and a quirky platformer.

All app prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. Price changes are solely under the control of the developers.

iPhone:

Stock Alerts Pro ($1.99 → Free, 2.0 MB): Know when to buy or sell your stocks with Stock Alerts Pro.

You’re able to add your stocks in batches by symbol, name, or specific exchange. You can then create alerts for high or low price points, trigger price, high or low percentage change, volume, and volume above average. Each alert type can include a different alert sound or you can apply one to all. You’re also able to view stock and alert history, and have the icon badge display the number of new alerts or a single stock price. Stock Alerts Pro is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 145 ratings.

LoveList for Pinterest - scan to pin what you love ($0.99 → Free, 1.8 MB): Scan to pin what you love with LoveList for Pinterest.

Whenever you see something you love in real life, just pull out your iDevice and scan the UPC with LoveList. The app will instantly pull up the item you scanned and allow you to pin it to Pinterest. It also provides a link to the item’s product page on Amazon in case you want to purchase it. Then start the process all over again. It couldn’t be easier! LoveList for Pinterest - scan to pin what you love is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 14 ratings.

Universal:

Floyd's Worthwhile Endeavor ($0.99 → Free, 112.3 MB): A quirky platformer with art based on the 19th century photography of Eadweard Muybridge.

You get to play as Floyd, a man on a mission to retrieve the world’s missing hats and deliver them to Eadweard Muybridge. You’re able to utilize swipe or on-screen controls, or if you have an external controller, I’d recommend using that instead. You won’t be able to unlock the door in each level until you collect all of the top hats, so get to work! The game includes five worlds, 50 levels, and the ability to adjust the control sensitivity. Floyd's Worthwhile Endeavor is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 13 ratings.

Can't Stop ($0.99 → Free, 23.6 MB): Push your luck by rolling the dice in this digital version of Sid Sackson’s classic board game, Can’t Stop.

Grab a few friends or take on AI controlled players and start rolling the dice. During your turn you get to roll four dice and select from the pairs presented to you to place runners. You’re able to continue to roll to add new runners or advance those already on the board, but if you fail to advance them your turn ends and you will lose all progress. The goal is to get three runners to the top of their columns to claim them. The game includes a variety of game modes including pass and play multiplayer, multiple AI levels, a full set of instructions, and achievements via Game Center. Can't Stop is available for free today only (04/22). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 86 ratings.

Photo and Video Transfer over wifi app ($2.99 → Free, 6.5 MB): Easily transfer photos and videos between all of your iDevices and computers with this utility app.

If you're transferring to another iDevice, both need to have Image Transfer installed. If you're transferring to a computer, you just need to point your browser at the web address provided by Image Transfer. The app also allows you to preview photos and share them in batches. Photo and Video Transfer over wifi app is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 122 ratings.

Stargrid ($0.99 → Free, 4.2 MB): Control the stars with this entertainment app.

Tap or swipe anywhere on the screen to disrupt the stars. A single tap will send ripples to and from its maximum radius, and multiple taps and swipes will have an effect on each other. You’re able to adjust the intensity, size, speed, density, and color of the particles. An infinite loop mode allows you to keep the animation going and capture and share what you’re seeing. Stargrid is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 32 ratings.

Atomic+ ($1.99 → Free, 19.9 MB): You’re going to need some quick reflexes to survive the onslaught of bullets in this simple yet challenging arcade game.

You’re put in control of a large circle that goes around a ring all on its own. As it goes spinning, bullets will fly out from the middle of the screen. To dodge the bullets and collect the squares, just hold your finger on the screen to expand the ring and release to contract it. Running into bullets will cause damage, while collecting the squares will reduce it. Try to survive for as long as possible. The game includes a handful of control options, allowing you to experiment and see what works best for you. It also includes two difficulty settings, and leaderboards via Game Center. Atomic+ is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 100 ratings.
