Numbers to consider ahead of Apple’s third quarter FY2014 earnings call

Apple is scheduled to hold its third quarter results conference call at 2 p.m. PDT. Before they do, some numbers to consider:

$35.32 billion

Apple reported revenue of $35.32 billion during the third quarter of 2013. This included a quarterly net profit of $6.9 billion, or $7.47 per diluted share.

The consensus estimate among Apple analysts are for earnings of $1.26 per share on sales of $38.31 billion, according to Fortune.

14.62 million

During the third quarter of 2013, Apple sold 14.6 million iPads. The consensus among analysts is that Apple will announce iPad unit sales of 14.43 million, or a 1.3 percent decline year over year.

31.24 million

During the third quarter last year, 31.24 million handsets were sold. Analysts expect that Apple will announce iPhone unit sales of 35.78 million, or an impressive 14.5 percent increase year over year.

Apple’s stock price is up 17.89 percent since the beginning of the year. In the last 12 months, the stock has climbed 55.15 percent.
