Build the perfect underground vault in Fallout Shelter
If you’re a fan of the Fallout games on Xbox, Playstation, and PC, there’s good news for you. Not only is Fallout 4 launching in November, but the game world has come to iOS in a blend of SimCity, XCom, and Faster Than Light. In Fallout Shelter, you need to create and outfit your own underground vault, trying to keep your residents alive and happy.
You play the part of an Overseer, designing a state-of-the-art underground shelter from Vault-Tec. You must “build the perfect Vault, keep your Dwellers happy, and protect them from the dangers of the Wasteland,” according to the game description. Fallout Shelter allows you to choose from a variety of modern-day rooms to flesh out your Vault, and each of your Dwellers have ideal jobs you must find for them.
When your Dwellers are ready, you can send them aboveground to explore the Wastelands in search of adventure, survival loot, or possible death. Your goal is to keep your Dwellers alive and happy, but that isn’t as easy as it sounds in a world devastated by an apocalypse.
Fallout Shelter is free on the App Store, with in-app purchases to get resources. The game requires iOS 7.0 or later, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
