So instead of using traditional earbuds and headphones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will include a pair of Lightning-connected EarPods with each handset. Additionally, if you prefer your high-end wired headphones and earbuds, they will include an adapter for you to connect your traditional wired earbuds and headphones to your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple has also introduced their new wireless AirPods. These are wireless earbuds that include the new W1 chip that provides high efficiency playback with a reliable connection. There are infrared sensors that detect when the earbuds are in your ears, so audio only plays when they’re in your ear, ready for you to listen. They are touch sensitive so you can do things like double tap to access Siri, they respond to your voice vibration, and reduce external noise.

The AirPods will provide five hours of listening on a single charge. The wireless charging case gives you another 20 hours of battery life. Pairing the wireless AirPods is incredibly easy and they claim to have incredible sound.

The Apple AirPods will cost $159 and be available in late October.
