Quirky App Of The Day: Ace Duck Hunter, No Obnoxious Dog Required

Ace Duck Hunter HD Free (Free) by MystoneGame Inc is a hunting app that is similar to the old Nintendo game. The bonus is that the dog that would pop up and laugh at you isn’t included in this app. You’re free to miss ducks without fear of being ridiculed by a pixilated canine.

You begin the game with a pistol that is loaded with 115-120 rounds of ammo. I have no idea why you have so much ammo. That comes out to over 10 shots per bird in a one minute time frame. I guess some people need more practice than others.

The ducks fly from four different places. The ducks fly at you from two positions, and away from you from the other two. However, there is only so far that you can shoot. You have to get the ducks in the middle before they’re too far away.

You earn $10 for every duck that you shoot. The money is used to unlock more guns and different backgrounds. You can also buy more money through in-app purchases. As ridiculous as it is to write out that you’re buying money, that’s exactly what’s going on.

The free version of the game is extremely limited. You can’t level up, buy more guns, or use different backgrounds. It pretty much renders the whole idea of shooting to earn money a moot point. The free version is more of a trial app where you get to test out the app before you purchase it. Considering how limited the app is in the free version, it would be great if you didn’t have to deal with ads on top of it.
