Google Buzz Gets Its First Unofficial iPhone App With Buzzie
March 3, 2010
We've told you all about Buzz, Google's new social platform that lets you share pretty much anything you want with your Gmail friends. While it didn't work out as well as planned for Google, it does however feature an interesting location-aware webapp for mobile users.
The problem is, as I have said so many times before, most webapps tend to be pretty terrible, and Buzz doesn't derogate from this rule. It's slow, and just doesn't feel right.
Well, if that's what was also holding you back, there is now a better, native alternative. It's called Buzzie, and it's the App Store's first Google Buzz client.
I got to play around with it for a bit this morning, and it is indeed a quite different experience from Google's webapp. At launch, the app provides you with all the latest buzz's in your area, without even the need for an account. Once logged in, it actually features a very similar interface to the webapp, with the same features, but in a more classical App Store app style.
In short, it lets you buzz on the go, check out your feed and posts nearby, simply and quickly.
It's a little costly at $1.99 (on sale actually), but if you happen to use Buzz and just can't stand webapps, it's definitely the way to go.
Go check it out!
