Following the mass pre-ordering rush that took place earlier this week, both Apple and AT&T have apparently started cancelling pre-orders for the upcoming iPhone 4.
Nothing has been made official yet, but some customers who had pre-ordered, hoping to open up a shiny new iPhone 4 on Thursday have instead received this unsavoury email in their inbox:
Dear Customer, We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone order. As a result, we had to cancel your iPhone order. To complete the purchase of your iPhone, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T company-owned retail store. We apologize for this inconvenience. Sincerely, Apple Online Store TeamWe're currently trying to find out more about this travesty, so keep checking back for updates. And if you've received an email like this from either Apple or AT&T, get in touch! [via Engadget]
