iMovie For iPhone 4 Now Available

June 24, 2010

iMovie for iPhone 4 has arrived in the App Store, just hours before the official 07:00am launch of Apple's iPhone 4. As promised during the WWDC keynote by Steve Jobs, iMovie brings the magic of video editing to your iPhone 4. In addition to the application, Apple has also posted a list of frequently asked questions regarding iMovie, along with instructions for exporting videos edited within the app. Interestingly, Apple added a summary to the page (below), stating that email, YouTube, MMS or MobileMe Gallery exports will be scaled down to standard definition.
If you decide to share your movie from the Camera Roll via email, YouTube, MMS, or your MobileMe Gallery, the version of the movie you export will be scaled down (to a maximum of 568x320) in order to improve transmission performance.
A third support document also confirms this disappointing reality. But let's not dwell on the negatives; iMovie for iPhone 4 does look great. And at $4.99, it isn't overpriced. So if you are one of the lucky few to have already received an iPhone 4, head over to the App Store now and download iMovie - and let us know what you think of it in the comments box below!
