iPhone 4: Faster Than 3GS, Slower Than iPad

June 24, 2010

Early benchmarks of the iPhone 4 can show it to be 31% faster than the iPhone 3GS according to our recently collected data.

The results of our benchmarking test (which can be found here) highlight the order of speed as: iPhone 3GS < iPhone 4 < iPad. However, it has been noted that benchmarking is not an exact science - especially when working with iOS 4. Repeating the same test sometimes gives a large variation in results, which obviously decreases the accuracy of test itself. If you're one of the lucky few who have already got an iPhone 4 (or are going to attempt to purchase one today), let us know whether you're impressed with the speed of Apple's new handset in the comments box below!
