iPhone Dev Team Jailbreaks iOS 4 For iPhone 3G And iPod Touch

June 22, 2010

A few hours after Apple's highly anticipated iOS 4 software update was released, the notorious iPhone Dev Team managed to jailbreak it. They then swiftly released the jailbreak tool redsn0w 0.9.5 beta 3, which is available for both Windows and Mac. In addition to jailbreaking, iPhone 3G users with a baseband between 04.26.08 and 05.13.04 will also be able to unlock their device for use with any carrier using the ultrasn0w 0.9.3 update from the Cydia Store. But don't forget: jailbreaking your iDevice voids your warranty. And if you do decide to go ahead with the procedure, make sure you back up your data before doing so. Everything you need to know about the process can be found on the iPhone Dev Team's blog, here. [via TechTree]
