It's about Time...
Get ready to turn the pages with Time Mobile's new super-intense update. The company has recently massively improved the free TIME Mobile application to version 2.0, after listening to advice given by readers. This has resulted in a series of changes being made to the application. Among them are:
Speed - the application is now much faster. This had been a major complaint.
Customization - you can decide which sections of the magazine appear on the app's home page.
Increasing font size is now also possible, either for individual articles, or for the entire app.
Podcasts added.
Shake to refresh.
Sharing articles through Facebook and Twitter.
Video library optimized for iPhone viewing.
Articles can now be saved for offline viewing.
Searching for favorite articles is also now possible.
However, Time Inc. are still charging users a ridiculous $4.99 per issue - an extortionate amount considering that the print version of the magazine is a mere $0.50. This has resulted in 74% of the application's users rating the TIME Mobile iPad app as being poor.
No matter how many sheik updates are applied to this app, it's clear that many will not even consider using it whilst Time are still charging ten times the amount for a digital version of their print magazine.
It just doesn't make sense.
