AT&T's Chief Technology Officer, John Donovan, has stated that the company will "move Heaven and Earth" to improve the service it offers customers, according to a recent post by VentureBeat.
Speaking at VentureBeat's MobileBeat 2010, Donovan took center stage, and answered a few questions regarding the company's network quality - and what's holding it back. Donovan answered:
"I'll tell you the things it's not been. It's not been capital, it's not been conviction and commitment."In addition to this, the CTO made a few meager excuses - explaining that new phones and apps are partly to blame for poor network quality. He also poetically stated that AT&T will "move Heaven and Earth" to meet its customers' growing data needs. In addition to this, Donovan stated that by 2014 we should be seeing point-to-point video - and that the amount of data used will be huge. So it looks like we've got a while to wait before things in the AT&T data world get really exciting, but if John Donovan's statements are anything worth going by, the wait is going to be worth it. We hope.
