Verizon iPhone Unlimited Data Plan Will Never Be A Possibility

Here's the final nail in the coffin for anybody out there hoping to secure a Verizon iPhone on an unlimited data plan in the near future: according to a recent report by Engadget, Verizon will soon be adding tiered pricing for data packages in an AT&T-style rate change.
This of course squashes any hopes anybody had of grabbing a limitless iPhone on a Verizon plan if AT&T lost exclusivity. And if Engadget is right, we're going to be seeing a lot of similarities between the two carriers' pricing - which would hardly be surprising.
The word on the street is that Verizon will be implementing these changes in the upcoming weeks, so we'll have to wait and see whether this rumor becomes a reality. And, if it does, the possibility of a Verizon iPhone is still unconfirmed - so it may be that we're moaning about nothing at all.
However, if Verizon does make the aforementioned changes, and AT&T does lose exclusivity on Apple's iPhone handset, we'll all be watching the former carrier in anticipation - wondering just how similar the networks' iPhone rates will be. And, even if there is little difference between the two, maybe 3G coverage will be a big enough issue to sway the market. We'll just have to wait and see.
