New iPod Touch Comes With A FaceTime App

If you faithfully followed our coverage of Apple's special event, then you might have noticed something pretty interesting in Tyler's hands-on video of the new iPod touch. As many of you already know, the fourth generation iPod touch comes with a couple of cameras which allow the device to participate in FaceTime calls. If you thought the iPod's lack of calling-capabilities might have posed a problem, don't worry. iOS 4.1 brings the ability to initiate FaceTime from within an email. However, another way iPod touch users can start a FaceTime call seems to be via a FaceTime app, which you can see in the screenshot of our hands-on video below:

Pretty interesting, right? We're guessing this app will make FaceTime calling from fourth-gen iPod touches as easy as pie. Just another handy feature Apple has added for us.
