Coming Soon: Lord Of The Rings Tower Defense Game!

If there's one movie series I adore more than Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars combined, it's the Lord of the Rings. You don't need me to tell you why Peter Jackson's immense films, based on the works of JRR Tolkien, make one masterpiece - it's common knowledge. And, with merchandise ranging from jewelry, to coins, cards, and stamps, its surprising to hear that an official Lord of the Rings themed iDevice game hasn't yet graced the App Store.
However, as Galadriel states: the world is changed. A LOTR tower defense game is, indeed, in development - and should be hitting the App Store (and our iPhones) some time in the December.
And, if you ask me, it's coming at the right time, too. Long time favorite and tower defense classic, Fieldrunners, is starting to feel old on my iPhone. Almost like butter spread over too much bread. It's time for a new tower defense game - one that utilizes the iPhone 4's awesome capabilities.
Additionally, because this is the first officially licensed LOTR iDevice game, you can expect it to be great. We've heard the app is going to work with Apple's Game Center, which is handy, as users will be able to interact with the social network from the minute they kick-off with LOTR Defense.
Glu Games is the development company behind the title, which is brilliant news too. So far, Glu has brought us a variety of iDevice games, including Glyder and World Series of Poker. It's a pretty big development company, so you can rest assured that LOTR's upcoming game is in good hands.
