Report: Your iDevice May Be Dirtier Than You Think...

Your iDevice is beautiful: it's sleek, smooth, and perfectly designed - but, did you know it could also be contaminated with a variety of different bacteria and viruses? I didn't either, until I took a look at this New York Daily News article. And, let me warn you: it's not for the faint hearted.
As TUAW reports, four different NYC Apple Store iPads were swabbed, and the results were less than glamorous. After a laboratory examination, scientists discovered traces of several malicious bugs including: Staphylococcus aureus (which causes staph infections), and Corynebacterium minutissimum (which causes skin rashes). Gross, right?
So, how can you keep your iDevice free from such nasties? Simple: don't let other people touch it. Because, sadly, not everybody washes their hands regularly. And, if you do lend your iPhone or iPad out, you can always use an Apple approved wipe to clean it afterwards.
