Kik Messenger is a great cross-platform IM client which is currently available for free in the App Store.
Developed by Kik Interactive, this clever application works with iOS, BlackBerry OS, and Android. It features push notifications, landscape mode, and real time messaging. And, no matter which platform you use, Kik Messenger is completely free.
Obviously, this is great news - especially since Kik's main competitor, WhatsApp Messenger, costs $0.99. Even though it's not much, it is $0.99 you could spend on another application.
So, if you've got a friend with a fetish for BlackBerry OS or Android, be sure to point them towards Kik Messenger. And, don't forget to download the app yourself. Even though it's somewhat basic, Kik definitely seems to be one of the better cross-platform IM applications available in the App Store today.
