Confirmed: Apple Has Sold One Million Apple TVs

Recently, Apple announced that it expected to have sold one million Apple TV devices before Christmas. Now, the company has confirmed this achievement to John Paczkowski, of All Things Digital.
Interestingly, Apple recently labeled Apple TV "the perfect iOS accessory." Additionally, it was noted that AirPlay has contributed to the sales:

However, various analysts have noted that the overall annual revenue generated by Apple TV sales will hardly be impressive. Shaw Wu with Kaufman Bros. called the recent Apple TV sales figures "positive, but fairly immaterial." If Apple manages to sell one million Apple TV units per quarter, Apple Insider notes that $400 million in revenue will be generated by Apple TV sales.
