iTunes' 90 Second Song Previews Go Live, U.S. Store Only

December 9, 2010
Apple has extended song previews in the iTunes Store to 90 seconds. Currently, only some songs in the U.S. iTunes Store can be previewed for 90 seconds. The move comes following an email to various record labels, which Apple sent out last month:
We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases.
As you can see in the above screenshot, songs can now be sampled for up to 90 seconds. Apple fans who purchase music from the iTunes Store will undoubtedly appreciate this change. So, what are you waiting for? Head over to the U.S. iTunes Store now, and start taking advantage of those 90 second previews! And, thanks to Engadget for spotting this.
