Upcoming Version Of TinyUmbrella Will Allow You To Restore Your Device Without Using iTunes

December 11, 2010
An upcoming version of TinyUmbrella will reportedly allow users to restore their device without using iTunes. The news comes from Semaphore, the developer behind TinyUmbrella, who noted on his blog:
I've been working on a new and improved version of TinyUmbrella that will, among other things, allow you to restore your iDevice without iTunes. With the holiday season and work, this will take me a bit to get working the way I want it. I appreciate your patience and your support. You guys are awesome :) No ETAs yet but I'll post updates here and on twitter.
Obviously, this would allow users to easily downgrade their device, and might even help in preserving the baseband. We'll keep you updated as more news becomes available, so keep checking back with us for regular updates. And, thanks to Covering Web for spotting this!
