Earlier today, the universal VLC Media Player for iOS application was removed from the App Store. However, the popular application isn’t gone forever.

Since the app was removed, its developer has made VLC Media Player available in Cydia via their “beta repo.” In order to download the app, you must first add the following repository in Cydia: “http://rpetri.ch/repo.” As Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich) noted on Twitter:

VLC for iOS is up on my beta repo: http://rpetri.ch/repo (it was pulled from the App Store and deserves a new home in Cydia)

Once you’ve added the repo, you’ll be able to download VLC for iOS on your iDevice. Good luck, and let us know if you manage to download VLC via Cydia in the comments below.
