The Allotted Stock Of iPhones For Existing Verizon Customers Already Sold Out

February 4, 2011
Mac Rumors reports, from comments posted in their forums less than two hours ago, that the iPhone 4 is no longer available for pre-order from both the Apple Online Store and Verizon's web site. However, both companies note that online orders will resume, but for everyone, on February 9th. In store availability, again for both, will happen the very next day at 7:00 AM local time. Apple even adds the tidbit of "on a first-come, first-served basis." It's yet unclear whether there was that much demand or if Apple doesn't have that many CDMA iPhone 4s to go around. Considering that this was for existing Verizon customers, I'm guessing they didn't have a lot of units to offer. Verizon is likely hoping to have a lot of AT&T customers transition, and wants to have enough to go around. How many of you existing Verizon customers will be clicking in your orders or standing in line amongst the AT&T disgruntled that are so eager to switch?
