The iPad 2's Battery Is An Absolute Beast

March 4, 2011
The second generation iPad is thinner than the original iPad, and it's twice as fast, while still boasting the same battery life. If you were wondering how this could be possible, take a look at the above image. As you can see, the iPad 2's battery is huge. An Apple fan (@nilsou) attached the image in a tweet sent to MacStories' Federico Viticci, claiming that the iPad 2's battery is 1.8 times bigger than the original iPad's. The size of the iPad 2's battery appears to be supported by Engadget's various shots of the interior of the second generation device. Obviously, this is the reason why the "thinner, lighter, faster" iPad 2 has the same battery life as the original iPad.
