Handoff Updated: Adds Support For Third Party Browsers, PasteBot, And Instapaper

April 12, 2011
The popular universal sharing app for iOS, Handoff, has recently been updated. Now, users of the app can enjoy added support for third party browsers - such as Atomic Web Browser - and other apps, like PasteBot and Instapaper. If you're not familiar with the app, Handoff allows users to send things like URLs, map references, and phone numbers, from their computer to an iOS device. Currently, Handoff is available to download via the App Store for $1.99, and is a universal app - meaning one version will run natively on all of your iOS devices. Now, the latest version of Handoff (1.1) expands the app's functionality even further. Now, users can "push" content from their computer to other iOS apps, including Maps, YouTube, Articles (for Wikipedia), and Twitter. Additionally, users can now send items to Instapaper, or paste items to PasteBot, and can choose to open links shared in third party Web browsers. As mentioned, the new version of Handoff is currently available to download for $1.99. Check it out, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. [gallery columns="2"] [Image credit: MacStories]
