Moving On, iPad 3 Rumors Begin To Surface

April 20, 2011
Many would-be iPad 2 buyers are still trying to find a place to buy their tablets, but that hasn’t stopped the quiet flow of iPad 3 rumors. The latest comes from South Korean web portal Daum, which suggests the next iPad will come with a 2Ghz dual-core Samsung-CPU. Actually, the report quotes an unnamed “high-ranking official” that states Samsung is expected to release a smart phone with the CPU mentioned previously. However, according to Digital Trends, Apple would almost certainly want a “piece of the action.” They state:
A 2Ghz dual-core processor would significantly boost the current spec of the iPad 2, which operates with a 1Ghz dual-core processor. That’s already a big improvement over the original iPad, with many reviewers commenting on the improved speed performance of the latest tablet, so a processor twice the speed could be something pretty special, allowing for even more demanding apps to be developed.
Of course, Apple and Samsung are currently embroiled in a legal fight over the apparent similarities between the iPhone 4 and Samsung’s line of smart phones. However, this probably won’t stop the two tech giants from continuing to work together. After all, Apple’s A4 and A5 chips, produced by Samsung, are currently featured in the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, respectively. The iPad 3 will most likely be released sometime in 2012. What do you think?
