Qik Video Connect Update: Brings Cross Platform Video Calling!

Qik Video Connect (free) has recently been updated. Now, fans of the app can make video calls to Android users as well as to other iOS device owners. The feature has been added in the latest version of the app (6.3). Other changes include "improved live streaming quality," and better support for the iPad 2. However, cross platform video calling is definitely the best aspect of this update. As explained in a recent Qik blog post:

Our new apps work on a whole bunch of Android (2.1-2.3.3) phones, iPhones, the iPad2 and every iPod Touch with a camera.  They make it easier to stay connected and share special moments with your friends and family.  Show up for a birthday.  Help pick out a prom dress.  Or just be there when you can’t.
