ToDone: A Digital Index Card For Your Tasks
ToDone (Free) by Forche Software is a casual to-do list for your iPhone.
Do you remember a time before smartphones? A time when you would have to write down your daily to-do lists on paper or index cards, even? Even though this is old fashioned, it added a bit of personality to your task list. Now you can replicate that old feeling in a more casual to-do app for your device with ToDone.
ToDone is not a super complex GTD app and it is also not a complicated to-do list app either. ToDone is simply a digital index card for you to record your tasks. The interface is well-designed and looks great, and the index card truly replicates the original feeling, with the detailed texture and all.
You will notice that the index card will have a numbered list. These are for your tasks. By default, you can enter up to three tasks on this "active" to-do list. You can unlock more via the in-app Premium upgrade for $1.99.
The index card is your "active" to-do list. When you are done with an item, you simply check it off. When you're done with the tasks for the day, you can archive the entire card, which will be replaced with a card for the following day. There's an arrow on the bottom of the card that will allow you to "flip" the card over to a blank side, which is for your notes for the day.
If you decide to put something off, you can just tap an item on the index card and put it off or delete it. If you put it off, it will move to the Inbox.
Along the top is a toolbar though, with more options. You have Quick Add, Inbox, History, and Settings. With the Quick Add option, you can enter a new task or note that you will have to do sometime later. The inbox is where you can keep additional tasks that you can even convert to notes. History allows you to view your past index cards.
There are Settings for ToDone, but they aren't accessible unless you purchase the in-app upgrade. However, if you do get the upgrade, in addition to more daily tasks on the index card, you get: Reminders, Reminder Time, Items Per Day (this can be set to a number you choose), and additional themes.
ToDone is a simple and customizable way to manage your tasks for the day. You can structure your list for what you need to focus on and worry about less important stuff later. It's free to try, so you can test it out before taking the plunge to the premium upgrade.
