Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP Now Hitting The App Store

April 20, 2011
In just a matter of hours, iPhone and iPod Touch owners will be able to experience the mesmerizing beauty of the pixel-art enhanced Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. The game has been out on the iPad for about a month and has generally received very high praise from critics and gamers. It has already hit various stores around the world, and will be available for you to download comes midnight in your time zone. According to Capybara Games, the existing app will be made universal so there should be two versions of the game on the App Store. The HD version will be the Universal App while a specifically made version for the smaller devices will have "micro" attached to its name and a price of $2.99. Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP mixes point-and-click adventure elements with sword-and-shield fighting, along with some puzzle solving, to combine into a unique game. When playing the game on the iPad, you have to switch orientation from landscape to portrait mode when the fighting portions of the game take place. It will be interesting to see how this will feel on the smaller iDevices and if it will be implemented the same way. Music is a big part of the game's charm and presentation. So much so that the developers at Capybara Games released the game's soundtrack called Sword & Sworcery LP – The Ballad of the Space Babies, in both Vinyl and digital form. The game also features popular-media elements like using tweets, as part of the adventure. If you are looking forward to the game and don't own an iPad let us know how well you think the small screen will work to do the game justice. Are there any features you would like to see changed between the two versions? Feel free to comment below.
