Updated Race After 1977 Offers Up A Number Of Handling And Performance Improvements

April 27, 2011
The first update to Xpect Games' Race After 1977 has arrived! As the first step, the company chose to focus on overall improvements and customer suggestions rather than worrying about providing additional content. Race After 1977 v1.1 changes include: • Improved handling, controls and car physics • New brake and suspension systems installed on all cars • Greatly improved performance! Frame-dropping fixed. • Additional performance gains on iOS 4.0+ devices Utilizing Xpect Games' own game engine, Race After 1977 moves away from the traditional pure speed asphalt racing-style to an off-road environment with a twist. The game takes place sometime shortly after a hypothetical nuclear fallout that requires racers to dart between bridge pillars, dodge and jump dirt mounds, drive on walls, weave amongst heavily damaged structures, and more. Battling merciless opponents across five environments and 10 courses doesn't seem too far-fetched for racing simulation fan. However, because courses are primarily loose dirt and ash with plenty of bumps and humps, choosing one of the nine vehicles and paying attention to track specifics to take advantage of those elements to create shortcuts is very important to your success. Control schemes consist of tilt, touch arrows, and left or right steering wheel. All control schemes have automatic acceleration with a brake pad that also offers reverse functionality. The driving view can be from the hood camera, front bumper cam, or a third-person near or far display. Compete in Quick Races or set out on Story Mode to unlock new courses and vehicles. Game Center integration provides dozens of achievements to earn and leaderboards to climb. Race After 1977 is designed for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, 32 and 64GB third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch, and iPad through iPad Compatibility Mode. Race After 1977 is available in the App Store for $2.99.
