Watchlaterapp Updated: Adds Download Queue, Slight Redesigns & More

May 25, 2011
Watchlaterapp, a $2.99 iPad application that provides an Instapaper-like service for online videos, has recently been updated. Now, users of the app can take advantage of a download queue feature, minor redesigns and more. As outlined in the app's release notes, changes made in the latest version of the application (1.4) include:
  • a download queue was added
  • cache button redesign
  • add video url from clipboard
  • delete video from within the app
  • bugfixes
If you're not familiar with the application, Watchlaterapp allows users to save videos they encounter online and watch them later on their iPad. It's even possible to cache videos and watch them offline. Simply create an account and install the service's bookmarklet, and you should be good to go. As explained by the app's developer, again in Watchlaterapp's release notes:
Browse your favorite online tech talks, video tutorials and video posts and watch them anytime. Create an account to get our bookmarklet, and watch the videos whenever you want on your iPad - at your most convenient time.
However, the app does come with some issues - namely, the app cannot cache YouTube videos, which is annoying. Regardless, the developer is listening to criticism from the app's users, and updating Watchlaterapp accordingly (for example, the app's cache button was previously very problematic - the most recent update addressed that issue). As mentioned, Watchlaterapp is currently available to download for $2.99. Check out the latest version, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. [via MacStories]
