Apple Launches New Webpages: Why An iOS Device Is Great For College

June 29, 2011
Apple has added three new webpages to the “Students” section of its website, outlining how a Mac, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad can help college students in their studies. While three new pages have been added in total, two focus on Apple’s mobile operating system. As noted at the iPhone webpage:
iPod touch and iPhone put thousands of apps — and countless possibilities — in your pocket. That’s just part of why they’re ideal for college students on the go.
And, as explained by Apple over at the iPad webpage:
With loads of great features, like the large, beautiful Multi-Touch display, the ability to carry an entire library with you, and access to thousands of educational apps, an iPad is the perfect choice for school.
The webpages consist of a variety of different iOS “features” explained. These can also be expanded in order to display even more information - and the animation is very similar to Apple’s folders (in iOS 4+ and OS X Lion). The change comes following Apple's launch of its "Back to School" promotion, which this year offers college-bound students and staff a free $100 iTunes Gift Card with the purchase of a qualifying Macintosh computer.
