Illusion Labs Celebrates Their Success With Touchgrind For Mac, Available For Free In The Mac App Store

August 7, 2011
One of the most interesting and well done digital recreations of an old school game is Illusion Labs' Touchgrind for iPhone and iPod touch and Touchgrind HD for iPad. Due to the success of these and Illusion's extreme finger sports sequel, Touchgrind BMX, the company proudly released Touchgrind for Mac. Touchgrind for Mac is basically Touchgrind for iPhone running on your personal computer. The Mac version includes the same three gameplay modes to conquer and numerous miniature skateboards to unlock and enjoy. Because the game uses multi-touch technology, just like the iOS versions, it won't work on just any Apple computer. Being a Mac App Store title, it shouldn't be surprising that the operating system required is Snow Leopard or Lion. For your Mac to properly recognize simultaneous finger movements, you'll need to own a newer MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or a Magic Trackpad. According to documentation, Apple portables that have gesture support include: • MacBook Air, MacBook Air (Late 2010) • MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008), MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009) • MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2008), MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2008), MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008), MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009), MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009), MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009), MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011), MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011), MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011) There are a couple ways to verify which Mac you have. If you're running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, go to the Apple menu, select About This Mac, then click on the More Info button. Otherwise, it's also possible to determine by serial number, model number, or model identifier: How to identify your MacBook Air, How to identify MacBook models, and How to identify MacBook Pro models. Ultimately, since the game is free, you can just download it and give it a try without risk. Touchgrind for Mac is compatible with a Mac equipped with a trackpad supporting multi-touch gestures or a Magic Trackpad running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or later, and available in the Mac App Store as a free download.
