Wolfram Launches Sun Exposure Reference App

August 5, 2011
The Wolfram Sun Exposure Reference App is now available in the App Store. The universal app tells you how long your skin can be exposed to the sun (in your location) without burning, plus other tools. Created by Wolfram Alpha, the app is a great tool for figuring out when not to sit out in the sun. Or if you do, when you should come inside. The app’s Sun Exposure feature bases information on your skin type, date, time, and expected SPF (sun protection factor). By default, the Wolfram Sun Exposure Reference App assumes you want information based on your current location. However, this can be changed to any location in the world. Plus, forecasts are available for at least three days forward. We suggest not entering your skin type information. This way, the app computes information for those with any skin type, making it a perfect tool for everyone in your family or each of your friends. Based on your input information, the app shows you a table indicating the typical time to sunburn based on skin type and SPF factor. It also offers real-time recommendations. The Wolfram Sun Exposure Reference App also includes a UV Forecast, Sun Position tool, Sunrise & Sunset information, and a weather forecaster. This is a terrific app and one that can help you avoid a lot of pain. As such, it comes highly recommended. The app is available today in the App Store for just $.99.
