In Japan, Apple's Recently Announced Siri Service Is Nothing More Than A Joke

Apple's iPhone 4S might look like its predecessor, but the handset's exclusive Siri service sets it apart from every other smart phone on the market. However, Japanese Apple fans aren't going to be able to take advantage of the feature initially because, to begin with, it'll support just English, French and German. But that's not all Siri has to contend with in Japan - even its name is something of a joke.
The word "Siri," according to The Next Web, sounds an awful lot like the Japanese word for "buttocks," which is "Shiri" (尻). The comedy spread to Twitter, and one Apple fan even realized that a Google Search for "4S Siri" prompts Google to ask if you were looking for buttocks, instead. Just make sure you've got SafeSearch switched on.
It looks like Japanese Apple fans are going to keep on launching, at least until Apple adds Japanese language support to Siri. Speaking at Apple's iPhone event, Phil Schiller noted that Siri will technically launch in beta form, insomuch that it'll initially support just three languages with the view to adding more in the near future.
