Legendary Outlaw ($2.99) by Game Tongue Software, LLC is a first person shooter (FPS) game that starts off in a prison that you have to escape from. You don't have any weapons to actually shoot when you start, but that changes soon enough.

After beating your cell mate to a pulp and having a guard open the cell door, you're able to run out and pick up an axe to make short work of anyone you meet. After killing a few more people, guns will be dropped, which are picked up by tapping on the orange tab that appears when you're near it.

A plethora of weapons will become available including a revolver, shotgun, and even a Gatling gun. Smaller, single-handed weapons can be dual wielded and used separately from one another using the corresponding weapon buttons on the bottom right of the screen.

The graphics are sharp and crisp, but you won't always be able to enjoy them since there is a lot of darkness in the game. This is to accommodate stealth attacks with the axe, which can be very swift in killing from behind.

Dealing with some enemies quickly is necessary as they will sound an alarm if you don't, creating an endless stream of people wanting to kill you. They can become difficult to deal with so avoid delay unless you enjoy the extra fighting.

Control is a bit jerky with sudden skips in frame rate, but most of the time it's smooth enough to play just fine. If the screen changes too slowly, you can change the sensitivity in the options menu.

Legendary Outlaw is a well thought out game that follows a storyline through 12 environments and has detailed voice acting. FPS games are always a bit awkward on the iPhone, but this one plays well enough. It has a lot to offer including: good AI, nice graphics and lots of action.
