If iOS 5's new and improved notification system doesn't impress you, look out for Notificator - a soon to be released jailbreak tweak, which allows users to create their own custom event notifications and even replace existing notifications with their own imaginings. The tweak, as iDownloadBlog notes, adds a new pane in the Settings app via which users can configure Notificator. It's possible to modify existing notifications (such as the battery alert), altering the banner notification and sound displayed, and it's also possible to create brand-new event notifications for anything you can think of. Enabling new notifications looks to be a simple process - there are events, as you can see in the below video, for every aspect of your iPhone.
