Fall Under The Spell Of SpellTower 3.0, Now With Retina iPad And Multiplayer Support

April 12, 2012
SpellTower 3.0 is H-E-R-E! The newest and much-anticipated major update to the acclaimed iOS fusion of Boggle and Tetris is now live in the App Store. The 3.0 update for SpellTower drops block after block of new features, the most significant of which are its optimization for the new iPad's Retina display and its support for synchronous multiplayer mode via Bluetooth. As outlined in the game's change log, also newly added to SpellTower are a new icon, night colors for playing in dark lighting conditions, sound volume adjustments, an option to tweet your best formed word, optimizations for iPhone 4, and extra polish. The update also makes the game more battery-friendly, in addition to squashing some pesky bugs. Below you can watch the preview video for SpellTower 3.0, in case you missed it in our pre-release announcement a week ago. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. SpellTower is the brainchild of Zach Gage, an indie game developer whose marked excellence in his field has landed him recently on the pages of The New York Times Magazine. This update to his best-known game should be proof enough of his storied skills. SpellTower 3.0 is optimized for both iPhone and iPad and is available in the App Store for $1.99. The update is, of course, free for existing fans of the game, myself included.
