Not your ordinary “lite” version of a game, Puzkend is essentially Azkend 2 – The World Beneath without the story elements. The decision to make a standalone app was due to popularity, much like Bejeweled Blitz.
“The tremendous entertainment value of the Puzzle Game Mode in Azkend 2 was apparent from a very early stage. The development team loved the game mode, so the idea to spin it off as a standalone game was a no-brainer.” says Sampo Töyssy, Vice CEO of 10tons Ltd.
Even though Puzkend will be available as a free download later this month, 10tons isn’t skimping on much. The game will include two dozen puzzles, four difficulty levels, and Retina display compatible graphics, including optimization for the third generation iPad. In addition, 10tons proudly mentions the casual gameplay elements, no time restrictions and unlimited undos.
Puzkend is scheduled for release in the App Store sometime in May, and be compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Some preview screenshots and a game trailer are provided below
