My Little Hero Celebrates Big HD Release With Memorial Day Weekend Sale

May 25, 2012
When it was launched in the App Store early this month, Acne Play's My Little Hero was not yet optimized for iPad, whether new or old. But now, about three weeks after the game's debut, My Little Hero HD has arrived. Instead of making the original iPhone version of My Little Hero universal, Acne Play, in partnership with game publisher NCsoft, has decided on a separated HD iPad version of the game. As expected, this new and "bigger" version comes with high-resolution graphics that look spectacular on the new iPad's Retina display. But if what you have is an original iPad or an iPad 2, you hardly have anything to be envious about. The game's endearing visual style simply shines on any iPad, as it always have even on the smaller screen of an iPhone. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Of course, My Little Hero HD features the same content as its standard counterpart. As shown in the trailer above, it tells the story of a boy who must rescue his beloved stuffed toy from the big, bad Boogeyman. Wearing a cardboard helmet and wielding a stiff sword, he bravely enters the Boogeyman's closet, beyond which lies a world of danger and puzzlement. The game is really a charming, if a tad too cute, action adventure platformer, reminiscent of the classic Legend of Zelda and the much more recent Paper Monsters. My Little HD for iPad is available now in the App Store for only $1.99. Its regular price is $4.99, but it's been discounted in honor of its release and of the Memorial Day weekend. Likewise, My Little Hero for iPhone is on sale at only $0.99, down from its previous tag of $2.99.
